Hard work key for students to excel in life: Ibobi
STAFF REPORTER IMPHAL, 16th May:
Emphasising on the importance of hard work in order to achieve success in one’s life, former chief minister Okram Ibobi has said that studying in premiere institutes outside the state without hard work will not help students in excelling in their lives.
He was speaking as chief guest of the felicitation function of top nine position holders of HSE 2018 in Arts stream, all of whom are students of Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School, held at the Sangakpham premises of the school on Wednesday. Governing body of the school hosted the felicitation function.
Ibobi quoted professionals as saying that education system in the state is comparable with those in other states. One should know that spending huge amount of money to study outside will not bring any good if the student does not put in efforts. He also appreciated founder of the school for the service being rendered towards the society by providing better and affordable education facility to the students of the state.
He further said that the Congress leaders are not attending the function to instil political thoughts but to encourage students to become successful persons in their lives for a better future of the state. He also encouraged those students, who could not score high marks, by stating that there are many more challenges in their lives and they can always perform better in their higher studies.
There is nothing that cannot be achieved through hard work and determination, he added.
The ex-CM also emphasised on the roles of parents and teachers in producing quality students.
Former deputy chief minister Gaikhangam hailed school founder P Saratchandra for his teaching methodology, which helps in producing good students every year. Grooming the future pillars of the society right from the childhood stage is the most divine service one can give to the society, he added.
School governing body secretary P Saratchandra said that the main objective of the school is to bring the best out of the students. Though some schools are in the race of buying students, who top and perform remarkably in HSLC examination, by extending attractive offers, his school do not want to participate in such race. Bringing out the best from the least performing students and producing rank holders in class 12 examination, is more important for the school, he added.
HSE 2018 position holder students of the school were honoured with prizes. MPCC president TN Haokip and MLA K Govindas also attended the function.
