Stating that the incumbent state government has introduced a new way of moving towards effective delivery of different welfare programmes and public services for the uplift of common people, Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing said that there is a need for a change in the people's mindset and attitude towards 'development'.
Governance without people is dictatorship and the present government led by chief minister Biren is committed to involve the common man at all levels of governance through the introduction of Go To Village Mission, he asserted.
"For years, only those few people who knew how to snaffle government schemes had benefited and village simpletons were left out, but now with the new government introducing innovations in its system of governance, all the poor and deserving villagers will get the benefits entitled to them," the MLA assured the villagers gathered in the village community hall.
