Poster campaign of CIRCA held

IMPHAL,8th Aug: Ahead of the observance of Manipur Independence Day on August 14, the women wing and youth wing of Coalition for Indigenes Rights Campaign (CIRCA) conducted a poster campaign at Khwairamband market here Wednesday. Speaking to media persons on the sidelines, CIRCA women wing executive member RK Tharaksana recounted that on August 14, 1947, Manipur got independence from the British rule.

The flag bearing the symbol of Pakhangba that was hoisted on the said day by the then King Bodhchandra was hoisted again on August 14, 2016 by the titular king of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba in the presence of the advisors of Sanakonung and people of the state, she added. Thus, to spread awareness amongst the people about the significance of the day and the flag, the poster campaign was undertaken, she added.
