Dialogue on district creation inconclusive, next talk in Dec

IMPHAL,1st Sep: The eighth round of the tripartite talks involving the Centre, state government and United Naga Council (UNC) which was held at DRDA conference hall, Senapati district headquarters on Saturday ended without any conclusive agreement. Saturday's talk was chaired by MHA joint secretary (NE) Satyendra Garg. Agriculture minister V Hangkhanlian, education minister Thokchom Radheshyam and PHE minister Losii Dikho represented the state government. Secretary (TA& Hills) Athem Muivah and secretary (Rev/CAF& PD) T Ranjit assisted the ministers.

The UNC team was represented by UNC president Gaidon Kamei, general secretary S Milan, ANSAM president Joseph Adani and Naga Women`s Union president Asha Wungnam. During the talk, the state government agreed that it could not come with a concrete proposal because of urgent issues before the government and requested for some more time to come out with a concrete proposal.

The state government acknowledged the sentiments of UNC and assured that it would come out with definite concrete plans in the next meeting, which has been scheduled in first week of December. After the talk, Satyendra Garg acknowledged that i
