Kwakta village authority for re-transfer of Tengnoupal DC
IMPHAL,6th Sep: Expressing concern over misleading information given to the public regarding calling off of the bandh along the highway at Moreh, Kwatha Village Authority has clarified that the bandh was called off for the time being as it received a positive response from minister Biswajit. The village authority also declared that information regarding reaching a permanent solution with government is not even close to what was actually agreed upon.
In a statement, Kwatha Village Authority explained that it had called the bandh along Moreh road demanding re-transfer of Tengnoupal DC. However, following an invitation from the spokesperson of state government, leaders of the village and supporters of the bandh including Kuki village chiefs met Minister Biswajit and talked about the retransfer of the DC and prevailing issue with regard to Border Pillar 81.
During the meeting, the minister gave a positive response and said that he would publish the news about the retransfer of the DC in newspaper after discussing with the CM. Following that village authority decided to call off the bandh for the time being.
Sadly, without mentioning anything about the assurance given by minister Biswajit, the government through local dailies said that the issue had been resolved as a permanent solution has been reached with the village authority, it rued. Decrying such act of misleading the public, the village authority appealed to the state government to initiate necessary steps for re-transferring the DC.
