Framework Agreement not ordinary document: IM

DIMAPUR, 8th Sep: NSCN-IM's army chief, lieutenant general Anthony Shimray has said on Saturday that the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM is "not an ordinary document but a covenant to settle the political issue of the two entities honourably". The NSCN-IM's army chief said this at Saramati Hotel in Dimapur during a consultative meeting with Lotha Hoho and its units.

Lieutenant general Anthony Shimray is also "Political Commissar to the Collective Leadership" of NSCN-IM. The consultative meeting was headed by Hukavi Yepthomi, "Kilo Kilonser" (home minister) and lieutenant general Anthony Shimray. "Today’s consultation was a call for sharing and understanding the political issue at hand so that the Nagas harvest the deserving national aspirations," NSCN-IM said.

The president of Lotha Hoho conveyed that it is "with the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) and will be with the Naga nation now and ever", according to NSCN-IM. Addressing the gathering, the NSCN-IM home minister elaborated on the "uniqueness of the Naga history and the cause of the Naga struggle from the inception till India officially recognised the uniqueness of the Naga history which is the principle of the Framework Agreement which was signed on August 3, 2015 between the NSCN and the Government of India".

Hukavi Yepthomi also asserted that "every Naga is equally responsible for bringing an honourable solution". Likewise, every Naga is equally welcome to be a part of the final solution which is arriving soon, NSCN-IM added.
