October rally not against any community, says UCM
IMPHAL, 29th Oct: United Committee Manipur (UCM) president Karam Sunil has clarified that the October 31 rally is not against any community but for ushering in peace, unity and integrity of the state.
Addressing media persons at UCM office at Lamphel on Monday, Sunil said that all preparations have been completed for the rally. It will be flagged off from Kwakeithel Tiddim Ground and will proceed towards Keishampat. It will culminate at Khuman Lampak where a public meeting will be conducted after passing through Wahengbam Leikai, Nagamapal, Khoyathong, Thangmeiband, Assembly Road, Chingmeirong and Dingku Road, he said. Appreciating the physical and moral support extended by different sections of the society, Sunil expressed his belief that the rally will witness one of the largest participation of people from all over the state.
Reiterating that the rally is to take a pledge for the unity and integrity as well as peaceful coexistence among the different communities of the state but not against any particular community, the UCM president appealed to the people of the state to show their support like they did in the past. He also urged all to bring their personal vehicles even if they miss the transport facility arranged for the rally.
