Biren only CM to speak of hill-valley enmity: MLA Lokeshwar
IMPHAL, 2nd Nov: Unlike all the past chief ministers of the state, BJP CM N Biren is the only head of the state government, who speaks of hill-valley enmity, said Khundrakpam MLA Th Lokeshwar.
The former speaker was speaking as chief guest at the inauguration of a multipurpose community hall constructed under his local area development fund at Waiton Makha Leikai in Khundrakpam assembly constituency on Friday.
Interacting with media persons on the sidelines of the function, the MLA denounced CM Biren of speaking of hill-valley enmity and accusing previous government of dividing hills and valley at every function. He is claiming every now and then that hills and valley have united with the emergence of BJP government, he said.
It is unfortunate for the Modi government and Biren government to show the world a wrong image of hill-valley divide. Speaking of such enmity and division in itself is an attempt to create division between the hills and valley and everybody should stand united against such nature of the Biren government, he contended.
Except for Biren, no other CMs in the past have ever spoken of hill-valley enmity or carried out any such attempt to project a wrong image of the bond between hills and valley. The CM should never use such term if he really wants the best for the state and its people, he said.
Reacting to a statement made by a BJP spokesperson in a TV discussion session regarding the armed attack on former CM O Ibobi in Ukhrul, Lokeshwar said that the whole state knows why the attack was carried out even if BJP is playing dumb in this matter. It is rather funny for BJP to ignore the stand of Congress government against extension of ceasefire agreement signed between Centre and NSCN-IM in the state and restriction put up against entry of NSCN-IM leader Muivah in the state, which resulted in the attack.
On the other hand, despite being in the top of the list of assembly constituencies of the state, he is putting his relentless efforts to bring developmental changes in Khundrakpam AC in a unique way, Lokeshwar said. He then appealed to the people of his constituency to support him in realising the goal irrespective of political differences in order to bring about a developed Khundrakpam AC.
MPCC spokespersons P Saratchandra, N Bhupendra, Waiton GP Pradhan P Surbala, ward members N Nonibala, K Bijoy, Prince Club Waiton president A Tejmani and Meira Paibi Nupi Lup president Th Anita also attended the inauguration function.
