Govt keen to bring scribes under CMHT: CM
IMPHAL, 6th Nov: Noting that in-spite of serious financial constraints, journalists have been contributing enormously in the promotion of social harmony and making the public aware about various government schemes and programme, chief minister N Biren said that the government of Manipur will come up with a new policy to cover working journalists of the state under the Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) scheme. Interacting with newspersons at his secretariat office on Tuesday, he also declared that families of journalists who are eligible for Ayushman Bharat scheme will be covered by the centrally-sponsored scheme. The CM further informed that blacktopping of Singnat-Sinzawl road (NH-102B), which connects Churachandpur with Mizoram, is now almost complete. Expressing pride and happiness on the outstanding performance by Mandakini Takhellambam in a TV reality show despite being visually impaired, the CM reiterated the government’s decision to reward Rs 10 lakh to the singer in recognition and honour of her talent and hard work. He also wished her success in the final round of the competition.
