CM reviews security ahead of Sangai Fest
IMPHAL, 15th Nov: Chief minister N Biren reviewed security scenario in the run up to the Manipur Sangai Festival, 2018 late Thursday evening. The meeting was attended by DGP, IGPs, intelligence and home department officials. Brigadier Anil Chauhan, CO of 11 AR stationed in Moreh, representative of IGAR (S), SPs and DCs of Tengnoupal and Chandel districts too attended the meeting held at CM secretariat. During the meeting, the CM instructed security agencies to restrict number of checkpoints along Imphal-Moreh road in Tengnoupal district to one or two and not to harass travellers along the highway while undertaking security measures. He also asked all concerned to offer hospitality and courtesy to foreign as well as domestic tourists. The CM conveyed that new security equipment will be in place by December which will minimise the time for security checks and enhance comfort of travellers and traders.
