Assembly seeks views on liquor bill
IMPHAL, 16th Jan: The select committee, which was constituted by Manipur Legislative Assembly to examine the Manipur Liquor Prohibition (Second Amendment) Bill, 2018, has solicited views/suggestions from the general public. As per a statement issued by the Assembly secretariat, those desirous of submitting written suggestion on the Bill may hand over two copies of the memoranda in English or Manipuri addressed to secretariat’s joint secretary (Legn) Rohit Sapam through firstname.lastname@example.org within January 31. Deputy chief minister Y Joykumar is the chairman of the select committee which was constituted on July 23, 2018 to examine the Bill that proposes to enable manufacture of alcoholic beverage ‘for human consumption strictly for sale outside the state of Manipur with a view to increase the revenue collection and to tap and promote the natural skill of local people, the statement maintained. It further informed that copy of the said Bill inclusive of official amendment may be accessed or perused from the website (neva.gov.in/home/index/mn).
