MANPAC clears confusion over bandh/strike
IMPHAL, 3rd Feb: Observing that statements made/released by some organisations, unrelated to MANPAC, have caused massive confusion among the public leading them to enquire whether MANPAC had called for a bandh/strike; MANPAC convener Yumnam Dilipkumar, in a statement, clarified that the committee has not called for any bandh/general strike or total shutdown in the state. The convener also urged CSOs of the state which have expressed their dissent against CAB to cooperate with MANPAC in all activities, adding that it is not the time to stand alone and fight this atrocity. He also appealed to the people to help guide such organisations to join/connect with MANPAC and fight for the local populace as one entity. Since it is of concern that such disunited acts could affect the state’s fight for its identity and survival, the people of Manipur should be ready to ‘enlighten’ those reactionary CSOs that have fallen into the trap of enemies, the statement further conveyed.
