Locals decide to retain revenue address
IMPHAL, 20th JAN: Locals of Langthabal Lep Makha Leikai have decided to retain the revenue address of the village. The decision was taken during a public meeting held at Langthabal Lep Makha Leikai Community hall on January 14. Organised by Social Reformation and Development Club (SRDC), the meeting was chaired by its president Laiphrakpam Dijendra Singh, Leishangthem Ibobi Singh and Maitham Shyamkishore as presidium members. During the meeting, the villagers unanimously decided to retain the revenue name of the village ‘Langthabal Lep Makha Leikai Heiripok Chingya’ and use it while addressing in public invitation and social functions. Any person who failed to abide by the decision of the meeting will be boycotted socially, warned SRDC secretary Leishangthem Romen Metei.
To protect the Heiripok hill and promote it as a tourist centre, the locals also resolved to stop all activities that will destroy the environment of the hillock, he added. The club also decided to plant saplings in Heiripok and make it as one of the most beautiful tourist centres.
