‘No sign of development in Thoubal villages’

IMPHAL, 21st FEB: Despite tall claim of chief minister O Ibobi Singh bringing significant development in Thoubal during the past 15 years, villagers in remote areas of the constituency are yet to see any sign of development till date. Stating this during his flag hoisting ceremony, Trinamool Congress (AITC) candidate for the upcoming election from Thoubal L Suresh expressed regret that many remote areas in Thoubal remain underdeveloped due to partisan attitude of chief minister O Ibobi Singh towards people of his own constituency.

While admitting that chief minister O Ibobi Singh’s 15-year rule has brought significant development in Thoubal proper area, Suresh said provision for drinking water, road communication and health care facilities to people in far flung areas of the constituency remained neglected. While many unemployed youths in remote areas of Thoubal remain searching for suitable job, many such youths hailing from Thoubal proper have been given jobs, he added.

The flag hoisting ceremony was also attended by AITC vice-president Mukul Roy and many leaders of the party.
