DIPR IMPHAL, 11th Nov: Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam Singh on Saturday inspected Senapati Aided Junior High School located at Tusii Nganii Khumai Senapati Village (TNK Senapati village).
Despite noting absence of certain infrastructure, minister Radheshyam expressed delight to see many students studying in the school. He also interacted with the students.
On learning about lack of proper toilet facility in the co-ed school while inspecting, Radheshyam assured assistance in constructing a proper toilet for the students.
The minister was in Senapati district for the 17th Foundation Cum Parent’s Day Celebration of Brook Dale Higher Secondary School, Senapati.
Speaking as chief guest, Radheshyam observed that education is to remain relevant in future. Education through positive learning and teaching provides skill, knowledge and better understanding of the issues consequently making a person holistic and become a solution provider rather than being a part of the problem, he said.
The minister further stated that children must be given what they expect from elders and teachers. Teachers and elders must understand the need and expectations of children.
He also exhorted that the parents and teachers not to pressurise children, rather let them grow and become innovative and creative for a better future.
He further advised the students to respect and obey the elders, while urging teachers to treat students as their own children with love and affection.
The celebration was also attended by chairman of ADC, Senapati ML Markson, Deputy Commissioner Athem Muivah, CO 34 AR Col GK Mahendra, ADC members, teachers, non-teaching staff, students and their parents.
