CARA officials to promote legal adoption in state

IMPHAL, 6th Dec: An official team of Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) led by its advisory committee chairman Ramchandra Reddy Manda would be visiting Imphal on December 8 to promote legal adoption in the state under the aegis of union minister of women and child development Maneka Gandhi.

The CARA team is on a tour to the northeast region of the country and will be visiting Guwahati, Shillong, Kohima, Imphal and Agartala. During their stay in Imphal, the team will visit children homes run by state government and NGOs and inspect standard care provided to inmates, create awareness on the merits and demerits of adoption, and reduce lapses in adoption issues. The team will also interact with CWC and State Adoption Resource Authority (SARA) officials and discuss ways to promote legal adoption in the state.

CARA advisory committee member RK Pramodini and Annie Mangsatabam from Manipur are among the five members of CARA team. The team is presently staying in Meghalaya.
