CCNTHCO to go ahead with state-wide bandh
IMPHAL, 31st Jan: The Core Committee of Nagaland Tribal Hohos and Civil Organisations (CCNTHCO) has reiterated its dawn to dusk Nagaland bandh on Thursday, stating that the decision was taken on January 29 in the meeting of all apex tribal hohos and mass based organisations. Two days ago, CCNTHCO announced its decision to call a statewide bandh on Thursday if the Election Commission of India (ECI) goes ahead with its January 31 election notification despite the joint declaration of political parties. Meanwhile, CCNTHCO Wednesday said that confusion is spreading that the bandh may not be observed uniformly. "Nevertheless, this bandh was a unanimous decision of all concerned and therefore it will go ahead as resolved," it added. "This bandh is placed as litmus test as to whether one upholds what one has promised or one backtracks. CCNTHCO has just the option to appeal to all concerned to prove one’s worth in action," it added. Army and paramilitary, police, media, medical services and district administration would be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
