NSCN-IM sticks to its 'solution first' stand
DIMAPUR, 4th Feb:
NSCN-IM Sunday said that it will stand by its decision of supporting the 'Naga people for solution' and not for election. “We will stand by this decision to the end,” NSCN-IM asserted. “National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) with this press statement informs the Naga people that we fully support the prudent decision of Naga people for solution of the Naga issue and hence, not to go for election,” NSCN-IM said in a statement. “We will stand by this decision to the end. We fully appreciate the wisdom of the Core Committee (CCNTHCO), churches, tribal bodies, apex Naga organisations including Naga Hoho, Naga Council Dimapur, Naga Mothers' Association, Naga Students' Federation (NSF), ENPO and others for their earnest and consistent decision to stand by the Naga people’s will,” said the statement. NSCN-IM then said that it will uphold the “historical and political rights of Nagas sincerely” and endeavour to negotiate an honourable political settlement based on unique history and situation of Nagas and the August 3, 2015 Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM. “We will not betray the responsibility and trust reposed on us by God and Naga people,” it added. The outfit then reiterated its stand that “imposed election” is not acceptable to Naga people. It also warned of “serious consequences” as per the law of the outfit on any of its cadres found defying the decision of Naga people.
